I grew up and was educated both on Vancouver Island and in the Highlands of Scotland, which gave me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and experience a variety of jobs and recreations. These included working in forestry, leadership at a mountaineering cadet camp, clerking in a law firm, working in a feed mill, and teaching music.
After being called to the British Columbia Bar in 1990, I practiced in downtown Vancouver and then in New Westminster for ten years as a litigator. I was happy to return to Vancouver Island in 2001 with my family and have practiced here since.
I have three grown children. I enjoy playing music with friends, hiking, amateur acting, bicycle rides for charity, and motorcycling.
I have 32 years of experience in civil litigation. Much of it has been in personal injury and insurance defence work. I have also worked in criminal defence, wills and estates, and insurance defence law. This experience allows me to give my clients the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed decisions.
